Zach Schlicher

TJMC Visual Designer and Battery Instructor

Zach Schlicher has been involved with the marching arts since 1997.  Upon graduation from high school in 2001, he began his drum corps career with The Cadets.  He continued to perform with the corps for four years and served as the percussion section leader in his final season.  During his time there, the percussion section earned three consecutive Fred Sanford High Percussion awards.  During the academic year, Zach studied percussion at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Zach has worked with several highly successful ensembles as an instructor and designer/arranger over the last six years including King Philip Regional High School, West Bloomfield High School, Walled Lake Central High School, the Spirit of America and Redline Percussion.  He’s currently on the design and instructional team for United Percussion out of New Jersey and the summer of 2011 will mark his fifth season with the Carolina Crown.  He began as the snare tech with Crown in 2007 and now serves as Asst. Percussion Supervisor and Battery Coordinator.  Prior to working with Crown, he was the snare tech for the Madison Scouts in 2005 and 2006. Along with his percussion design/instruction roles with multiple ensembles, Zach occasionally performs on cast with Blue Devils entertainment.  He has also been featured on VicFirth.com in the video lesson series, “Hybrid Rudiments”.  Zach proudly endorses Vic Firth sticks and mallets and Evans Drumheads.
